At the core of our system are the LillyPad network hosts, which work together to create a FrogNet. Multiple FrogNets can then connect to form larger FrogNets. These systems are fully automated and provide hosting capabilities for a variety of network-based services, including databases, media, messaging, and more.
First-response teams may carry their own networks to deliver vital services, including presence information, GPS location, text and video communication, and sensor data for team members. Movement within the network is seamless, with no need for reconnection.
Our flagship application provides automatic connection and navigation of the DisasterComm network from phones and computers. The basic application offers GeoLocation, text messaging, email, and access to the recovery library.
We will provide a comprehensive collection of texts and videos to empower communities in navigating disasters effectively. Our resources will include downloadable U.S. military field manuals and crucial information from scouting and service organizations. We will cover essential topics such as basic survival skills, first aid, cooking, and signaling for help.
Individual FrogNets may not be connected to the Emergency Management Center (EMC) via TCP/IP, especailly in the early stages of disaster recovery. To address this challenge, we are implementing an alternative method for requesting assistance over long distances. This bi-directional system guarantees that the EMC can promptly respond to high-priority requests from the field, ensuring effective communication and support.
Embracing our TCP/IP-based network opens the doors to the power of VoIP, empowering victims and first-responders to connect and communicate like never before!
Computers connected to the LillyPad, or the LillyPad itself, can harness the power of sensors to share vital information, such as temperature, barometric pressure, elevation, and wind speed, all beautifully showcased on an inspiring display.
We want to hear from you! How can we empower disaster victims and first responders with the resources and tools they need to make the best decisions in challenging times? Become a DisasterComm Early adopter and help define the future of emergency services and disaster recovery!
